John Pullan

1967-2017

John was a career recruitment professional. He began his career in IT in the late 1980s and in the early 1990s he helped launch an IT contracts business. The business grew into the ‘house of brands' that subsequently floated on the London Stock Exchange and became SThree Plc. John had a number of leading roles at SThree, including MD of an accountancy brand; a member of the PLC Operations Board; and chair of the CSR committee.

After SThree, John undertook several NED positions, followed by a CEO role with an international recruitment business, which was backed by private equity.

John began developing the concept for KnownFour some years ago.  As both an innovator and devoted father and family man, his idea was to marry up the opportunity that new technologies gave recruitment, with a growing problem, namely; the need for experienced recruitment consultants to work flexibly, whilst also providing exemplary service to their clients and candidates. Being a seasoned recruiter, John had witnessed several industries embrace flexible working successfully, and he felt it was time his industry embraced it too. The result was KnownFour, the new channel to pursue a career as a recruiter.

John felt passionately about creating a business model that harnessed the knowledge he’d acquired through building diverse, global recruitment businesses.   He applied it to a community of like-minded professionals and has left a legacy that will forever be at the core of KnownFour.

A greatly missed friend and colleague.
